A colourful celebration of love, friendship and community. Stuck inside on a grey, rainy day, a little girl asks her Grandad how to pain a rainbow on the sky. Grandad tells her rainbows aren't painted, but grow out of kindness and hope. What follows is a joyful explosion of colour, celebrating special moments with family, friends and community.

Review

My daughter and I enjoyed reading this together, We found it really uplifting especially reading this during winter and lockdown! It reminded us of summer days spent in the garden and visits to see Grandparents. We particularly enjoyed the rhyming of the verses and I enjoyed the reminder of my own childhood in passages such as 'grass stains on your knees'

The colours in this book are lovely, there is a different rainbow colour on each double spread page, and all the illustrations are depicted in that particular colour. Down to the clothes the characters wear and the background decor, the pictures are also very cute and lively!

I thoroughly recommend this book, it is a cheery and full of optimism and the beautiful illustrations are very appealing with lots of detail. It would be a beautiful book to share with grandparents and the rest of the family too. Reading this on a grey day is sure to fill you with happiness and hope.
