Twitch has three pet chickens, four pigeons, swallows nesting in his bedroom and a passion for birdwatching. On the first day of the summer holidays, he arrives at his secret hide to find police everywhere: a convicted robber has broken out of prison and is hiding in Aves Wood. Review
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Being a huge bird fan myself and a lover of nature, I love the way this book is so inspiring and geared towards inviting a love of birds and nature to children.
There are some topic opportunities for discussion such as bullying and friendship within this book, and so this would make a great book for middle grade class discussion.
The mystery plot is great and I found this book really enjoyable.
